Choosing a raiding base
Focus on the collectors or on the storage alone?
An easy raiding base is one where most or even all of the resources are at the collectors/mines. Through experience and practice, you should be able to spot the difference in seconds. Below are some examples of different level of fullness (hover your cursor over the pic to view caption). Bear in mind that different levels of collectors have different capacity, so a full Level 1 collector/mine will have much lower amount of resources compared to a low Level 10. A mine/collector that is being upgraded will be empty, so let's not waste troops on upgrading collectors if getting resources is your main goal.

Luring out the clan castle troops
Check out this video, a simple but useful guide. In the video, sometimes the troops(second tier) won't come out unless your troops generate enough threat (the troops come out following a sequence, in other words, if your luring troops die before all of them can come out, you FAIL to lure all the troops out in one go). So, a safer way to draw out all the troops is to send another batch of barbarians (2-3) to attack the structures even after some troops have been drawn out. This would probably trigger the rest of the clan castle troops to come out.

Raiding Policy
Before you press "attack", know the cost of your troops as you always want to choose a target who has adequate elixir to cover your cost unless you have too much elixir. Go for loots by your town hall level, e.g.
If you are not active, adopt the "easy loots" policy by spending more time to look for base with loots of at least 200,000 that store in the collectors, mines, and drills.
Furthermore, you will need to stay at the right league so that your opponent will not be too tough. Stay in the recommended league as below:
